Frequently Asked Questions

-
What do you draw?Mainly animals and I can draw most types of animals, both domestic and wildlife. I also draw people portraits and landscapes, but please enquire for more details and pricing for these.
-
How long does it take you to draw?Minimum 6 hours and often longer, but it depends on materials used. Coloured pencil drawings take the longest and are also the most costly in terms of materials used (I use Caran d’ache luminance, Derwent lightfast and Faber-castell polychromos) which is why they are the most expensive of my pricing. I take this time to ensure that every drawing I complete is of excellent quality and the absolute best that I offer.
-
Do you draw from photographs?Yes! Every drawing I do is based on a reference photograph. I prefer to work from good quality digital photographs, but I understand in some cases, particularly if someone requires a commission of a beloved pet that perhaps passed away many years previously, that photographs won't be digital or may not be of the best quality. In these cases, I will work with you to decide which photograph is the best one to work from, and as always I will create a high calibre drawing, but my normal level of detail may not be present.
-
Do you ship internationally?I do! I ship both domestically (UK) and internationally. An additional charge will be incurred to cover the cost of insuring and international shipping.
-
What is the process of commissioning me to draw for you?If you would like to commission me to draw for you, firstly I ask that you fill in the enquiry box. I will get back to you asap and we can then discuss in more detail who you are interested in having me draw, (breed, species, how many etc), what size drawing and which materials you would like it to be drawn in. If you would then like to go ahead with the commission, a non-refundable deposit of 30% would be required to secure your spot in my commissions book (payment due within 48 hours, otherwise I may not be able to hold that date and we would have to agree to another date). I will then email you a contract for you to sign detailing our agreement. When the date of your booking approaches (especially if you are booked a few weeks in advance), I will then contact you to confirm all details and inform you I am commencing your drawing. Once the commission is completed, I will email you informing you of this alongside the invoice for the remaining balance. Full payment would then be required before the drawing is professionally mounted and shipped.
-
How many commissions do you do?Currently I complete 1 commission a week, so on average 4 or 5 commissions a month.
-
How long does it take for me to receive my commissioned drawing?Once you have secured your place in my commissions book (you will be given a w/c date), we have agreed what you wish me to draw, and I have received the photograph you wish me to work from, I willI begin the actual drawing on that w/c date and the finished artwork will then be despatched and you should receive it within two weeks from this point (It may take longer depending on if you are an international customer because of delays in shipping/customs etc, which are out of my control). This timing may also take longer on busier occasions e.g. Christmas, Easter, mother’s day/father’s day etc. If you have a specific date in mind such as for a birthday or anniversary, please contact and commission me in good time for it to be completed.
-
Do you frame your drawings? All of my drawings are professionally mounted ready for you to frame, but I don't offer a framing service myself. Frames are an individual choice and the aesthetic I like might not be what you like, so I prefer to send my drawings fully mounted ready for you to choose your own frame.
-
What size drawings do you offer?I offer A4 and A3 sized commissioned drawings for both graphite and charcoal. (Please see my prices and sizes section for more info) My coloured pencil drawings are completed on Pastelmat because this creates beautiful vibrancy to the drawing, and these are sized slightly differently. So a smaller Pastelmat sheet measures 24 x 30cm and a larger Pastelmat sheet measures 30 x 40cm.
-

In addition you can buy my artwork on a selection of merchandise. My gallery will be updated often with new drawings (non commissions) so please do click Art Shop to browse and/or purchase. You can also buy from my Red Bubble shop.
-
Do you sell merchandise i.e. prints onto a mug, greeting cards or other items?"Yes I do! You can view my Art Shop to select whatever art you would like printed on your merchandise of choice. You can also buy from my Red Bubble Shop. Please do browse both!
